The Providence Police made their case for gun control and stiffer sentencing with a display the weapons they seized in 2012.
The weapons range from assault rifles suitable for military use to a variety of handguns, including a nearly 100-year-old Army revolver.
Getting these guns off the street make the city safer, said Chief Hugh Clements. "There's a lot of fire power out there."
In Providence, the police seized 130 illegal guns in 2012, almost at the all-time high level of 134 reached in 2011.
