PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A 17-year-old Providence boy wanted for burglary was found early Monday -- after he crashed a stolen Mercedes-Benz in front of a Providence patrolman.
The speeding luxury car narrowly missed hitting one officer's cruiser coming through the West End. The car sped into South Providence, jumped the curb outside 358 Broad St., sliding into a pole and spinning in front of another officer, according to a police report.
The teenage driver and an 18-year-old passenger ran, but were caught by officers behind 42 Somerset St. The boy had a dozen bags of marijuana, the report said.
The car, owned by a Massachusetts man, was towed away. The boy was arrested on the burglary warrant and charged with the stolen car, drugs and other charges.
