On the eve of competition in the 400-meter individual medley, Elizabeth Beisel has tweeted her thanks to all her home-state supporters:
"Can't express how much I appreciate all of the support, especially from my rhode island buddies. Can't wait to race tomorrow."
Some of those Rhode Island buddies will be gathering tomorrow afternoon at North Kingstown High School to view her swim in the finals of the 400 IM just after 3 p.m. tomorrow.
Beisel told The Providence Journal earlier this week that she's been trying to enjoy the Olympic experience more this time around than she did four years ago, when she was in Beijing. That includes hanging out with fellow Olympians like swimmer Allison Schmitt and basketball star Kobe Bryant.
