PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- No serious injuries were reported, but two cars -- including a Providence police cruiser -- were towed from the scene of an accident at the intersection of Memorial Boulevard and Francis Street early Saturday.
Bernadette Lynch, 31, of Warwick was given a summons for "failure to yield to an emergency vehicle'' after her 2009 Pontiac collided with a city police car that was responding to another call around 1:56 a.m., according to Providence police Lt. Patrick Reddy.
Reddy said two police cars were responding to another call; Lynch stopped for the first and then collided with a cruiser driven by Patrolman Anthony Doucette.
"I got confused,'' she told investigating officers, according to Reddy.
Reddy said the police vehicle had front driver's side damage, and Lynch's car, some front-end damage.
