NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) -- This summer's Newport Folk Festival has sold out five months in advance.
It's the first time in the event's 54-year-history that tickets for the Saturday and Sunday concerts have sold out so early. Tickets remain available for a Friday night kickoff concert.
Last year, tickets to the main two days of the festival sold out three months early.
Ten thousand people are expected to attend the July 27 and 28 concerts at Fort Adams State Park. The lineup typically features dozens of artists from a range of musical styles. This year's complete lineup hasn't been released.
The festival has boasted a who's-who of musical stars since debuting in 1959. It's known as the place where Bob Dylan went electric in 1965.
