Update: Mixed precipitation Saturday evening, accumulating snow possible Sunday

Saturday evening will be breezy with mostly rain south and east of Providence. The rain will mix with wet snow and sleet at times north and west of the city. Some roads and walkways north and west of Route 295 may get covered in a layer of ice or snow.

Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30's, though inland some spots could fall just below freezing. Winds will be from the northeast at 5-10 mph.

On Sunday, precipitation should be turning from rain to snow through the day. Highs temperatures in the mid to upper 30's will fall in the afternoon, with winds shifting into the north and northwest at 5-15mph.

Most accumulations will likely be picked up during Sunday afternoon and evening.

Final snow accumulation by late Sunday night: 2-5" far northern/western R.I. and northern Bristol County; 1-2" Kent County, Providence metro area, interior Bristol and Plymouth Counties; Coating-1" along the South coasts including Washington County.
