PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The police are searching for a gunman who held up a liquor store in the Charles neighborhood Wednesday night.
A clerk at Esquire Liquor Store, at 824 Charles St., told police that a masked man walked into the store around 9:30 p.m. with a shotgun in his hands, according to a police report.
The clerk opened the register, and the robber grabbed the cash. Then, the robber pedaled away on a bicycle up Christopher Street, the report said.
The robber was described at light-skinned and thin, about 5 feet 7 inches, wearing a black mask, knit hat, gloves, and a black coat over a gray hooded sweatshirt.
