PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Rhode Island Lottery has made several more top-tier staff picks to lead the way as it ventures into its new role as operator and overseer of Twin River, as it morphs from an electronic video-slot parlor into a full-fledged casino.
State Lottery Director Gerald Aubin confirmed the hiring of Roger Guillemette, of Little Compton, as the $70,207 senior compliance supervisor; Lisa McKenney as a $70,207 casino financial analyst supervisor; Margaret Carlson as a $67,729 casino table games accounting manager and Kailee Levesque as a $65,249 casino financial analyst.
The Lottery also hired Sharon Garner as its new $72,682-a-year legal counsel.
Guillemette was the state commissioner of jai alai and a pari-mutuel operations specialist for the Division of Racing and Athletics in the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation from 1985 to 1994.
Since then, he has worked in business development or as a project manager or consultant for the Rhode Island-based GTECH Corporation, International Game Technology in Reno, NG&G Facility Services International, Integrated Management Solutions and Aristocrat Technologies. He also did a short stint as an aerospace journalist.
McKenney was until recently the director of internal audit and compliance for the Twin River Management Group. Carlson is a CPA who comes to the job from the Providence CPA firm, Sullivan & Co. Levesque is also a CPA, and she comes to the Lottery's new casino operation from the arm of the Rhode Island General Assembly known as the Office of the Auditor General Office.
In her last two jobs, Garner worked in public defenders' offices in Colorado and Rhode Island.
