PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The police are investigating a drive-by shooting in the city's Elmwood neighborhood.
No one was injured.
Jamel Long, 20, of 230 Friendship St., Donell Kilgore, 18, of 128 Warrington St., and Sterling Stevens, 22, of 108 Comstock Ave., 2nd floor, all from Providence, told the police they were walking on Dartmouth Avenue just after 4:30 Friday afternoon when a dark blue Toyota with tinted windows approached and someone started shooting at them. The men said they sought cover behind a black Honda parked on the street.
Officers found three bullet holes on the driver's side of a black Honda parked in the area of 65 Dartmouth Ave. No bullets were recovered.
The Toyota, the men told the police, headed toward Broad Street.
Stevens was arrested on an outstanding warrant and is being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston.
