Republican Michael G. Riley loaned another $192,000 to his campaign against Democratic Rep. James R. Langevin, during the third quarter of 2012, bringing to $632,200 the total that the wealthy stock trader has invested in the race in Rhode Island's 2nd Congressional District.

But six-term incumbent Langevin has outspent his challenger by a margin of about $813,000 to $669,600, according to their latest federal reports. Langevin had $412,691 in the bank on Oct. 1, against the $54,807 left in Riley's campaign fund.
