PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A special federal bankruptcy court judge Friday accepted as complete the Central Falls financial reorganization plan filed by the city's state-appointed receiver, setting an August creditor vote then final hearings Sept. 6 and 7 on whether the plan should be confirmed.

Judge Frank J. Bailey ordered creditor ballots be sent out Tuesday and be returned by Aug. 21. Any objections to the plan must be filed by that date, he said, and will be considered at the Sept. 6 and 7 hearings.

"The city is thrilled today that under Governor Chafee's leadership we are now one step away from confirmation of a plan that will turn around the finances of the city of Central Falls," receivership lawyer Theodore Orson said.
