Body found in Providence, death suspicious, police say

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A body found Monday night at a Beaufort Street apartment is being investigated as a suspicious death, the police said.

The man's body was found around 6 p.m. Monday at 49 Beaufort St., Lt. Timothy O'Hara said.

An autopsy is being conducted, O'Hara said. The police are withholding the man's name pending family notification.

The investigation continues.
