WATERFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Traffic is being re-routed to avoid Interstate 95 north that has been shut near Waterford following a crash.
Emergency crews are working to pull a tractor-trailer from an embankment where it fell after crashing with a car early Wednesday morning. Officials say three people were injured.
State environmental officials also are on the scene to handle spilled fuel.
I-95 is a critical highway in the Northeast and a delay in the northbound lanes in eastern Connecticut will slow traffic into Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
