PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- New exhibit spaces at two airports are offering Rhode Island artists a chance to put their work on display.
The Rhode Island State Council On the Arts this week said it is looking for submissions for a series of 2014 exhibits at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick and the Block Island Airport.
Artists working in all media are encouraged to submit their work for consideration.
The public galleries at the airports are a joint venture launched by the state council on the arts and the Rhode Island Airport Corporation which operates the state's six airports.
"These exhibits are the continuation of a commitment to public art," said Lynn Harlow, who oversees the exhibit space at T.F. Green which is called "Green Space."
She said that with the help of the airport corporation, the two-floor space was created about a year and a half ago and is located at south end of the terminal right where stairs and escalators lead to a new sky bridge.
The cozy space at the small airport on Block Island was created about a year ago, she said.
Exhibits change every three to four months at the two locations.
Artists who would like their work to be considered can apply online with applications due by Oct. 31.
