PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- All are welcome at an open forum to talk about gay marriage, academic freedom, and Providence College at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at '64 Hall on the PC campus at 549 River Ave.
A group of students from a community organizing class are organizing the event, for which they said they hope to attract "a multitude of different viewpoints."
The event was originally scheduled as a protest of the cancellation of a lecture by John Corvino, Ph.D., the chair of philosophy at Wayne State University, on"The Meaning of (Gay) Marriage." After his lecture was rescheduled for the spring as a debate, the students decided to change the protest to an open forum with a facilitator.
