PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Amtrak has restored service between Boston and New Haven and Newark, N.J., and points south.
Shuttle service trains will also run Thursday between Springfield, Mass., and New Haven.
Modified service to New York City is expected to begin Friday. Schedules are yet to be announced.
No Northeast Regional service is available Thursday between Newark and New Haven and no Acela Express service will be available on the Northeast Corridor.
