CRANSTON, R.I. -- If you want to mix fun with holiday shopping and discovering local artisans, Garden City shopping center has a holiday festival that will run Saturday and Sunday.
Called "Festival Fete," the event will feature the works of more than 100 artisans plus live entertainment and yes, Santa Claus, who will be setting up shop in a cabin near the gazebo at the center of the shopping plaza.
There will be arts and crafts activities for children and holiday treats to shop for.
Sponsored by the shopping center, Whole Foods and other supporting businesses, the festival will run 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
