CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. -- Two Pawtucket youths have been arrested on attempted robbery charges in Central Falls, the police said.
Xzabia L. Perez, 18, and a 15-year-old were identified by the victims and charged with two counts of attempted first-degree robbery and two-counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, Central Falls Police Maj. James J. Mendonca said.
Perez is being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions as a violator of two previous cases. The juvenile, not identified due to his age, is being held at the Training School pending a probable cause hearing.
The police said the two tried to rob a man Wednesday morning near the CVS Pharmacy on Broad Street. Perez and the youth, the police said, threatened the unidentified victim with a knife. The victim resisted and the two ran away, the police said.
Officers later learned a similar incident had been reported nearby. Pawtucket police assisted.
Correction: An earlier report made an incorrect reference to the charges.
