PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A 52-year-old man has been indicted on charges of shooting a Providence man inside his house in Foster this fall.
David Lopes, of 155 Foster Center Rd., is accused of shooting and wounding Orlando Piker, 32, as he ran from Lopes' house on Sept. 11. The attorney general's office said Piker was shot nine times.
A Providence County grand jury indicted Lopes on Friday on two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling, one count of discharging a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence and one count of carrying a firearm without a license.
Lopes is held without bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court, Providence, on Dec. 14.
