NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Anthony Ciresi, 29, of 170 Waterman Ave., was arrested on a charge of attempted strangulation Saturday after a woman said he shoved her to the floor of her apartment, yanked her hair, and tried to choke her when she told him their relationship was over, the police said.
Police said they interviewed the alleged victim at Fatima Hospital where she was being treated for injuries to her neck and jaw.
Ciresi was released on bail and was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim pending a hearing in District Court on Feb. 11.
